Before you start experimenting, it’s important to do all the necessary pre-work to assure the scalability of your experimentation program. Governance is the formal process of defining the strategy of the experiment program and overseeing its execution to achieve the goals of the enterprise. One of the greatest challenges we’ve seen companies face is developing and maintaining a governance around experimentation practices.
Below, let's take a look at the relevant responsibilities related to experimentation rollout that require governance upfront: Platform Implementation, KPI or Metric Configuration, Methodology Education, Prioritization Practice, and Results Process.
Every governance needs a program structure that will dictate what the experimentation team will look like, who is on that team, and the responsibilities of that team. Once we establish the program structure and what responsibilities will be covered, we can then look at what the individuals on the team will be focused on.
