Now it’s your turn! Starting with a primary company metric, practice drilling down toward an experiment goal by filling out your own business goals hierarchy. Remember that you aren’t trying to define HOW you will get users to take an action; you’re just trying to figure out what the desired outcome will be. Once you’ve created the goals hierarchy, you can also practice building a goal tree to further inform your ideation. Remember, it may take time to build, but you’ll probably only have to build the goal tree once!
You will be doing a number of these Reflection Activities as we progress, so it is a good idea to keep this information organized so you can refer to it later. You can even save the blank documents into a master folder and copy them down into unique project folders for each project you create to help you every time you start a new experiment.
