Employee engagement is not something we take lightly at Optimizely. Here in the Bay Area, we are seeing strong job growth with over 2000 positions added every month. That’s why it was with immense pride that we took to the stage a few weeks ago to collect the highly coveted San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Best Places to Work award. For the sixth consecutive year in a row, Optimizely has been named one of the best places to work in the Bay Area!
The annual awards establish the most regarded places to work in the Bay Area and they are particularly special because placement on the list is determined by employees. Each employee evaluates the company across a number of categories, including opportunities for career development and advancement, benefits, and other aspects measuring employee engagement and satisfaction.
Awards programs like this are indicative of the importance businesses should place on culture. In order to retain and attract top talent, we prioritize creating an environment where Optinauts feel safe, impassioned, and rewarded. It is part of our values to instill a culture where our employees want to do their best work but I am most grateful for every Optinaut that has helped create this culture. It’s our entire team of Optinauts who have made Optimizely a truly great place to work.
In the last twelve months, we have initiated new programs to continue to focus on employee development, such as Year of the Manager and increased the frequency of development conversations. Our goal is to grow the careers of Optinauts so it’s inspiring to see 30% of our employees being promoted within the last year. The entire team is very passionate about our philanthropy program, which saw 64% of employees donate to causes across the globe and 2,205 hours volunteered in 2018. These social impact numbers are important for the community, and for our employee satisfaction.
