Christopher Bayliss

Christopher is Optimizely’s General Counsel, and is a transactional and corporate attorney with more than 35 years of global in-house and private practice experience. Admitted to practice in the US (California) and Australia, he brings deep transactional expertise across global cloud, software and services in public and private SaaS companies, including start-ups and emerging growth companies. His career spans a wide spectrum of legal areas, including complex cross-border transactions, tax, intellectual property, HR, immigration, litigation, procurement, insolvency & re-construction and corporate governance, with extensive experience supporting M&A transactions.

Prior to joining Optimizely in February 2022, he held senior global legal leadership roles at SAP, Ariba, and Quadrem, and has deep domain experience in SaaS globally over 25 years as in-house legal.

His multi-jurisdictional perspective, 100 quarter-ends and operational excellence and his ability to navigate the nuanced legal challenges of fast-growing global software companies makes him a trusted partner in supporting Optimizely's continued global growth, with a reputation for operational excellence and practical, business-focused legal counsel.
