DHL Revamps Email Marketing with Optimizely Campaign
Cooperation with Optimizely ensures greater efficiency and flexibility in customer service for the logistics giant.
Berlin, 12.05.2025 – DHL, a global leader in the logistics industry, has transitioned its entire business-to-consumer (B2C) email communications to Optimizely Campaign, leveraging Optimizely's leading Digital Experience Platform (DXP). This cooperation promises enhanced efficiency, reliability, and personalization in customer communication, particularly in areas such as package notifications and service updates.
DHL Streamlines Email Communication with Optimizely Campaign
From now on, all customer-facing email communications from DHL will be handled via Optimizely Campaign. The goal of this partnership is to boost efficiency and flexibility in DHL’s customer communications while ensuring stable performance.
The transition from the previous system to Optimizely Campaign was completed in record time. Within just four months – from signing the contract to full implementation – DHL managed to migrate its entire email communication infrastructure to the new platform. This rapid migration demonstrates the performance and adaptability of Optimizely Campaign.
Focus on reliability and user-friendliness
DHL chose Optimizely to have a reliable partner at its side in the long term. The new email editor allows for intuitive email design and editing, which greatly benefits DHL employees in their day-to-day work and reduces workload. Marcel Laufmann from DHL explains: "Optimizely Campaign provides us with both reliable email marketing performance and the ability to easily integrate our existing systems. The excellent customer support was particularly helpful, providing close guidance throughout the entire launch."
DHL's customers also benefit from this: The Optimizely platform supports the company in providing faster and more personalized information, for example, for package notifications or information on package services. This significantly improves the customer experience and ensures that important information is communicated promptly.
High Requirements for Mailing Delivery
In times of high shipping volumes, such as the Christmas holidays or Black Week, DHL can send up to 19 million emails per day with Optimizely Campaign. In addition, the system is designed to process up to 1,400 requests per second and generate and send email campaigns within a few seconds. DHL is already using a variety of features, and plans to implement upcoming product developments within the tool to continuously improve its email marketing strategy.
Daniel Hikel, General Manager DACH at Optimizely, adds: "This partnership with a global corporation like DHL shows how companies can optimize their communication strategies at various levels by using Optimizely Campaign. The combination of simple usability, fast integration, and high scalability makes it possible to efficiently implement even complex scenarios." With this collaboration, Optimizely is setting new standards for DHL in the field of email marketing for logistics companies and is helping to make customer communication more effective and reduce costs.
