The challenge: Delivering a scalable content marketing program

Diligent is the global leader in governance, risk and compliance technology. Their marketing organization faced mounting pressure to deliver high-quality content consistently for their multiple business lines, regions and target audiences. Their distributed content marketing team, relying on disparate tools like Slack, Teams, SharePoint and generic project management platforms, struggled with manual processes and fragmented workflows that dragged down turnaround times. This made creating content, tracking progress and managing reviews a constant challenge, hindering their efficiency and their ability to scale.

The solution: An AI-powered marketing platform designed to scale

Diligent turned to Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP) and its AI, Opal, for smoother operations. Opal serves as an agentic, fully autonomous, and infinitely scalable AI specialist that aids in executing any marketing and digital task at hand. The use of Optimizely CMP in conjunction with Opal has considerably fast-tracked Diligent's content development process. For example, Opal has enabled the team to expedite the production of comprehensive, brand-approved briefs and first drafts of content assets.

Because Opal is directly built into the workflows the team is already using for campaign planning and content creation, and can pull from a number of sources to enrich its output for the Diligent team, generating these briefs is as easy as clicking a button.

What's more, Opal can take a campaign brief and suggest a strategy for execution, including specific tasks that ladder up to the campaign. Based on Opal-generated briefs in those tasks, it can take automation a step further and create a draft of an article and accompanying social promotion without nearly any human intervention.

Diligent's team is also implementing AI agents to streamline the cumbersome process that goes into creating and distributing a weekly report of new content and enablement materials relied on by their commercial teams. Currently, this involves manual steps to gather content, create activation templates, and compile the report. They plan to use AI agents to automate the steps: pulling together content published from the previous week, generating messaging, templates and email suitable for sales team members to grab-and-go, and compiling it into a digestible report that is sent on a weekly basis. In essence, Diligent will be able to extend their workforce using AI agents to build out this report (and do much, much more).

What's next: Using Opal to transform Diligent’s go-to-market motion

Diligent is enthusiastic about Optimizely's vision for Opal and expanding their use of AI within CMP. Their roadmap includes leveraging Opal for repurposing content across different audiences, translating content into multiple languages, and automatically generating transcripts and subtitles for video content. They are also exploring using Opal for SEO and metadata optimization, to help automate some of the mundane (yet no less important) aspects of a quality content marketing strategy.
