Geo-personalization on hospitality and travel pages

13. Jan. 2026

Two experiments that show how personalizing the right offer to the right audience at the right moment changes whether visitors engage.

  • WHO: Digital, growth & CRO teams
  • INDUSTRY: Hospitality, Travel & Recreation
  • IMPACTED PAGES: Experience page

Experiment 1: Geo-personalized sweepstakes content for nearby visitors

Hypothesis: If we personalize the "Experiences" section and Experience Page content to display an "F1 Sweepstakes" to users who are located geographically close to the race, then we will see an increase in pop-up clicks and sweepstakes entries.

Results:

  • +213% Pop-up conversion rate improvement
  • +8.1% Total personalized experience improvement over non-personalized experience

Takeaways:

  1. Clicks on the personalized pop-up had a conversion rate 213% higher than the non-personalized holdback audience.
  2. When combined with the "Experience Page" personalized experience, the personalized content had a conversion rate 8.1% higher than the holdback audience.

Experiment 2: Rewards-program popup for anonymous kiosk users

Hypothesis: Introducing a contextual popup that highlights rewards-program benefits when a user taps "Continue Without Login" on the first screen will persuade more first-time, anonymous kiosk users to sign in.

Results:

  • +22% Increase in user log-ins

Takeaways:

  1. Overall user log-ins increased by 22%, showcasing the importance of value-led messaging.
  2. Displaying three concise benefit bullets with simple icons was the most performant variant, vs a single or two-line benefit statement.
  3. Despite the success, there was a slight increase in overall drop-off rate when the popup was active.

The difference comes from context

The same offer, shown to the right visitor at the right moment, converts better than the version shown to everyone. The Personalization Ideation Agent connects real-time signals, location, behavior, and moment, so experiences reach the people they were built for.
