Opal: Optimise, Polish, Approve, Launch
Opal validates CMS content for brand, SEO, and compliance before publishing, offering real-time feedback and recommendations to editors.
We will extend the CMS 12 Editor Interface to validate a page before publishing against Tone of Voice, Brand Guidelines, Compliances, SEO, Accessibility, etc.
Once an Editor has finished populating a draft page with content, a 'Check with Opal' button will be available in the 'Publish?' action menu. When this button is clicked a number of automated checks will be performed (list above), which will then provide recommendations for content updates against each property for the Editor.
To manage the configuration, a new Setting Screen will be created in the Admin Area of the CMS with the following features:
- A checkbox list of tasks that Opal will perform, e.g. Tone of Voice, SEO and Accessibility Checks, which can be switched on and off.
- Against each check, there will be a dropdown field to specify whether the Opal suggestions from this check are mandatory or optional, before the page can be published.
Within Opal itself, instructions will be defined for each of the checks, so that it has the context and rules that is it validating against.
